Salt Water Chlorine Generator:

Would you like a salt water pool?  A salt water pool is simply one that uses a salt water chlorine generator for chlorine production.   Salt content of the pool water is maintained at a level comparable to that of the human tear. A salt water chlorine generator converts some of the salt to chlorine which instantaneously becomes hypochlorous acid.  The active sanitizer that kills algae and other harmful contaminants in the water is hypochlorous acid whether using a conventional or salt water pool.  Selecting a salt water system does not relieve the obligation of maintaining other water chemistry within the recommended control ranges.  Effectiveness of the salt water chlorine generator depends on good water chemistry parameter control - especially pH.
